Deactivate Multiple Users

Learn the ways to deactivate multiple users at once.

There are two ways to deactivate users in bulk:

Deactivate from Manage Users

Deactivate Using a Quick List

Deactivate from Manage Users

Deactivating users from this page is recommended if the administrator wants to remove all users with a specific label, location, or other filter or there are a small number of select users that can be manually selected.

  1. Go to Users > Manage Users

  2. Select the users to deactivate by checking the boxes to the left of users’ names or by using the filters across the top of the page

  3. Click Deactivate which is located above the header row of the table

  4. Users can always be found in the system and reactivated by searching or filtering for Deactivated users and then clicking the Reactivate button. To filter for Deactivated users, click See All Filters, click to expand the User Status section, and then select the Deactivated checkbox

Deactivate Using A Quick List

If there is a list of users that need to be deactivated who fall into several Categories, Labels, or Locations, then Quick Lists is the preferred option to bulk deactivate. Quick Lists allow administrators to upload a roster of specific users to later reference in creating assignments, viewing reports, and managing users.

1. Create a Quick List with the users you want to update

2. Go to Users > Manage Users and click the See All Filters button found above the table of users

3. Click to expand the Quick List section to see all your Quick Lists

4. Check the box for the Quick List you just created containing the emails of users to deactivate, then click Apply Filters

5. Select all users by checking the box in the table header that appears to the left of “First Name”

6. Click the Deactivate button to deactivate all the users that were in the Quick List

 Note:

  • Deactivated users will not appear in your manage users list if your filters indicate “only active users”
  • Deactivating a user will not delete data from the reporting section
