Delete a Location

Follow these steps to delete a location in Foundry.

There may be instances where you’ll need to delete a location from your Foundry account. In most cases, this will be when a location was created in error (such as a duplicate location). Deleting locations may impact historical data, so you should only delete locations when you are certain you will not need to reference the location for any records.

Note: a location cannot be deleted if there are any users still associated with that location, so you’ll first need to remove the location from any user records before deleting the location.

  1. Go to Users > Locations

  2. In the table, find the location you want to edit and click the trash icon (“Delete Location”) in the Actions column on the far right.

  3. A confirmation modal will appear asking you if you are sure you want to delete the location. Note that deleting a location may impact historical data, so you should only delete locations if you are certain you will not need to reference the location in any historical reporting. If you are sure you want to delete the location, click OK.

Please note that if there are any users still associated with the location, you will get an error message and you will not be able to delete the location until those learners have been moved to a different location. For instructions on how to edit user locations in bulk, please see the Edit Multiple Users page.

  4. If the location does not have any learners attached to it, it will be deleted from your account and removed from the Locations table.
