Resetting a Password For an Admin or Learner

Learn the steps needed to reset a password for an admin or learner. 

You can manually send a password reset email to a user (learner or admin), which will let them click in and reset their password. You might want this when:

  • Someone forgets their password
  • Someone needs help accessing their course
  • Someone could use an extra course reminder outside the usual schedule

Send a Password Reset

  1. Go to Users > Manage Users.

  2. Locate the learner you are looking for either by scrolling through your list or by entering a name in the “Search Users” search field located at the top right of the page.

  3. When you have found the learner in question, click on their name.  This takes you to their User Details page.

  4. Click More Actions in the top right and select Send Password Reset

  5. A confirmation message will ask if you are certain you want to send the password reset to the user. Performing a temporary password reset will reset the user’s password temporarily to the new password for 12 hours. Click Send Password Reset to confirm.

  6. The user will receive an email with a link to reset their password.  Once they click on this link and create a new password, they will automatically be logged in and taken to their Learner Dashboard where they can view any courses they have been assigned.
