Course Description

This is a foundational ethics course that helps employees make good choices. Most employees know the difference between right and wrong, but certain circumstances can make it difficult to act upon that knowledge. This course provides insight into the competing pressures affecting their everyday actions, and allows them to practice overcoming common ethical obstacles.

Module 1: Introduction
This module provides a brief introduction to how to maintain an ethical workplace to prepare the learner for subsequent modules.

Module 2: Our Behaviors Matter
This module establishes the value of considering ethics in the workplace. The learner understands the impact personal values have on shaping ethical behavior and introduces the learner to a simple model for ethical decision making.

Module 3: Barriers to Acting Ethically
This module helps the learner understand the various hurdles that exist in the workplace to making ethical decisions. Through understanding these barriers, the learner is presented with various ways to navigate them and understands how to behave ethically despite the dilemmas they may face. They then apply these lessons through interactive scenarios.

Module 4: Ethics in Business
This module leads the learner through specific business situations to apply lessons learned on how to report and intervene unethical behavior in the workplace. It covers topics such as antitrust, retaliation, and maintaining confidentiality and security while walking the learner through multiple interactive scenarios.
